The play is episodic in structure and comprises a series of eighteen scenes that juxtapose the stories of Mary Mallon, the original ‘Typhoid Mary’ and the women who found themselves incarcerated in Longrove Hospital in Surrey in the early part of the 20th century.

The play is approximately 90 minutes long but an interval could be inserted after Scene Eleven if that was felt to be appropriate.
